RESERVE 4990 In the Hebrew year 4990, the Ramban was looking forward to leaving his home in Spain and immigrating to Jerusalem. Forty years later he arrived and renewed Jewish community life. The wine industry was revived, and became the basis for commercial production of wine in modern Israel.
A fruity wine with well-balanced acidity, bursting with citrus and tropical fruit flavours, especially peaches, apricots and a little melon, this wine offers a new and exciting facet to Chardonnay in Israel. The wine is designed for immediate consumption and not meant for extensive cellaring.
The wine is produced under strict controlled conditions from top-quality grapes of the winery, from vineyards in the Upper Galilee (85%) and Kiryat Anavim (15%). The final blend combines vigorous wines made in new oak casks after aging an additional six months,
The Yarden Katzrin Chardonnay exhibits fruit notes of ripe pear, lemon, apple and melon, mingling with characters of fresh flowers, flint and French oak. The wine's rich flavor and good acidity combine to create an elegant Chardonnay of great drinkability. This full-bodied wine presents a delicious and lingering finish.
The 2014 Yarden Chardonnay Odem Organic Vineyard presents ripe pear and fresh floral notes layered with mineral characters and hints of pie crust. Though concentrated in flavor, the wine features fresh acidity that makes for great drinkability. This pleasingly complex Chardonnay displays an attractively lingering finish.
The wine is produced from 100% Chardonnay grapes, picked from the vineyards of the Barkan Winery in the Upper Galilee region and the Jerusalem Mountains. The wine has an abundance of fragrances and tastes of citrus fruit and white peaches with a smooth and round finish.
